The Data Catalog Collaboration Project (DCCP) is open source, and we hope that other institutions will adopt the Data Catalog and implement it at their own institutions. The more institutions that join the DCCP, the more we can work together to make hard-to-find biomedical research data more discoverable.  Please read the information below carefully before reaching out, and see our resources page to get started.

If you are interested in joining the DCCP as a collaborating institution, please contact:

Kevin Read, DCCP Project Lead:

Institutions interested in joining the DCCP are expected to provide the following:

  • A letter of institutional support committing to the project

  • 0.2 FTE of staff (0.1) and developer (0.1) time to the project

  • Participation in quarterly meetings and working groups

Requirements for interested INSTITUTIONS

expectations of developers joining the dccp

Data Catalog code installation requires a PHP web developer to implement and maintain the software. It is important to note that the data catalog is not a drag and drop tool.

Developers can expect the following support from the DCCP throughout the project:

  • Configuring Data Catalog code for your local environment

  • Incorporating custom metadata schema into SOLR

The following are development prerequisites for implementing the Data Catalog:

  • Installing SOLR

  • Installing Symfony

  • Configuring Apache HTTPD Server

  • Configuring SSL and LDAP/Authentication

  • Required PHP Modules
